Vienna Philharmonic Coin Background
Minted with a fineness of 99.99% (24 karat) gold, the gold Philharmonic is a widely recognized gold bullion coin throughout the world, issued by the Austrain Mint in Vienna. First minted in 1989, with a face value of 2000 Schillings, now minted with a 100 Euro denomination. Both designed by the chief engraver of the Austrian Mint, the obverse depicts the design of a pipe organ of the world famous Musikverein Concert Hall, while the reverse displays a variety of orchestra musical instruments. Commonly available in 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz sizes. Recently available in a 1/25oz size.
