The American Eagle Platinum coin is extremely popular with investors and collectors who find the coin's beauty and the purity guarantee of the U.S. Mint irresistible. The obverse depicts the head of America's symbol of freedom, the Statue of Liberty and the reverse shows an American Eagle soaring high above the earth. A welcome addition to your precious metal portfolio.

Platinum Bullion coins are available in four denominations, providing four investment levels: one ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, and one-tenth ounce. The Platinum Eagle is the only platinum bullion coin whose weight, content and purity are guaranteed by the U.S. government.

All American Eagles are legal tender coins, with U.S. Dollars "face" value imprinted on them. Although their face value is primarily symbolic, it provides proof of their authenticity as official U.S. coinage. The one ounce platinum coin displays the highest face value ($100) ever to appear on a U.S. coin.

U.S. Government Guarantee
What really makes the American Eagle unique is that it is the only bullion coin whose weight, content, and purity is backed by the United States Government. You can buy them with confidence knowing each coin contains its stated amount of platinum. And since they require no assaying, they can be easily converted to cash at any time without worries or penalties.

Of all the precious metals, platinum is sometimes referred to as "the most precious metal." It is the most widely used and versatile of precious metals. Fifteen times more gold than platinum is mined each year, but 20% of all manufactured products utilize platinum somewhere along the production process. It is used in the production of fiberglass, computers, lasers and aspirin. But the greatest use in industry is as a control to pollution, as in automotive catalytic converters, which limit exhaust emissions. Jewelry creations utilize platinum as a major component as well.
